L3's Narda Microwave-West division has decades of experience in the design, manufacture and delivery of complex RF microwave components and subsystems to the defense, space and commercial industries. From the depths of the ocean to the outer reaches of space Narda Microwave-West’s RF microwave components are literally everywhere.

We are well-versed in addressing the challenges inherent in achieving maximum performance while balancing the interactive trade-offs between critical parameters, and has a rich history of producing optimum solutions for demanding requirements. Narda Microwave-West’s key technical strengths are the design and manufacture of state-of-the-art products range from DC-75GHz. Our expertise is not strictly passive and active components for Military Land/Sea/Air and Space platforms, but also state-of-the-art Integrated Microwave Assemblies (IMAs). Narda Microwave-West is chosen time and time again to tackle the most challenging applications and environments, where mission availability and success are paramount.

The Quality Management System at Narda Microwave-West is certified to ISO 9001: 2008 and AS9100. Our registrar is National Quality Assurance (NQA). In addition to third-party registration, our Quality Management System is approved by major aerospace customers, including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon and BAE. Measurement and test equipment used for product acceptance is calibrated in accordance with ANSI/NCSlL Z540-1. Workmanship at Narda Microwave-West complies with MIL-STD-454 and IPC610 as well as more stringent in-house and customer or program-specific standards.

By providing quality, reliability and performance of our state-of-the art RF and microwave components for the Satellite/Space and Launch Vehicle markets, we have continued to exceed customer expectations for over 50 years. Narda Microwave-West | History

Narda is often considered a pillar of the RF and Microwave Product industry, and rightfully so. Established in 1954, Narda quickly developed a reputation for design innovation and reliable products. Forty years later, after impressive revenue growth and expanded product lines for the military and commercial communication markets, the newly formed L3 Technologies, Inc. chose Narda to be among the ten original businesses to form the company. Today, with five decades of business success, Narda enjoys recognition as one of the most respected microwave component and multi-function assembly design and manufacturing companies in the world.

Narda currently operates four world-class Microwave/RF facilities. Each facility maintains its own experienced organization to support engineering and operations within its core competency. Close communications between facilities, ensures maximum knowledge transfer and resource usage among the corporations talent pool, to accomplish any engineering requirements.

  • The East Coast facility is located in Hauppauge, NY, encompasses 150,000 square feet and includes one Fed Standard 209 Class 100,000 clean room. Product lines include IMAs, couplers, power dividers, terminations, attenuators, PIN switches and mechanical switches, and RF Safety Products.

  • The West Coast facility located in Folsom, CA is the design and manufacturing center for all Space-Qualified active and passive products. Product lines include spaceborne Beacons, Channel Amplifiers, Frequency Converters, Hybrid Power Dividers, Linearizers, LNAs, Diplexers, Duplexers, Notch Filters, and switchable Notch Filters. The center encompasses 57,000 square feet and includes two Fed Standard 209 Class 100,000 clean rooms.

  • The Technology Center is located in San Diego, CA. It encompasses 2,300 square feet of design, prototyping, electrical/mechanical/ environmental test space, and is dedicated to R&D efforts.

  • The off-shore facility located in Costa Rica is 17,000 square feet, has its own clean room, and operates as a highly efficient manufacturing center for commercial catalog and non-classified military products.

A full range of environmental and electronic test equipment is available on site at each location. Our detailed design documentation and configuration controls, maintained for all system designs, support a consistent production process and easily facilitate increases in production capacity.

Notice of Disclosure Requirements to California Civil Code Section 1714.43, California Transparency in the Supply Chains Act of 2010

The subject law, effective January 1, 2012, requires L3 Narda Microwave-West to disclose its efforts to eradicate slavery and human trafficking from its direct supply chains. As part of its annual representation and certifications that it obtains from suppliers, L3 Narda Microwave-West intends to obtain certifications from its direct suppliers that materials incorporated into their products comply with the laws regarding slavery and human trafficking of the country or countries in which they are doing business. While L3 Narda Microwave-West, does engage in verification of product supply chains, and conducts compliance audits and maintains internal accountability standards and training, it does not currently do this specifically for human trafficking and slavery. However, Contract personnel, Purchasing personnel and Management personnel are sensitive to the subject of ensuring that none of its direct suppliers utilize forced labor or child labor.

This effort will complement the efforts currently made in performance of the United States Government Contracts which include the requirements found in FAR Subpart 22-15, Prohibition of Acquisition of Products Produced by Forced or Indentured Child Labor and FAR Subpart 22-17, Combating Trafficking in Persons. L3 Narda Microwave-West has an established supply chain which complies with the FAR regulations through its terms and conditions, periodic direct supplier audits, and representations and certifications. Actual identification or suspicion of any supplier violations will result in further investigation, and if justified, termination of the supplier and appropriate reports to Government officials.
